Bologna from my window

I stayed in an attic room whwn I was in Bologna, in September 2008. From the window I could see a sea of terracota rooftops, so romantic and distant. This old fashioned view made me think of English travellers visiting Italy in Victorian times. The city was so silent. It was very early in the morning and only the birds seemed to be alive.
